Every song on Were You There? began with a simple prayer—to capture, through music, what words alone could not express. Lindsey wrote many of these pieces while meditating on the Gospels’ account of Christ’s passion, often imagining the voices of those who stood near the cross: Mary, the thief, the centurion, the crowd.
The music grew into a narrative—a journey through grief, love, and redemption. It’s both deeply personal and universally relatable, reminding listeners that the cross is not just a moment in history, but a call to the heart.
